James Dixon is a Colorado sculptor whose prolific body of work presents a universe of forms—plump annular pieces, leafy fans, spindly crenelated columns, welcoming vessels, and elaborate structures. Across themes, his sculptures celebrate “forms within forms,” creating distinct geographies that range from monumental to intricate millimeter-wide details.

Dixon earned his bachelor’s and Master of Fine Arts degrees at Colorado State University. He has exhibited extensively throughout Denver and Colorado and maintains his own workshop. His work has been featured or commissioned by a range of organizations including Rolling Stone Magazine, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, Vantage Press, LUXE Interiors + Design, DYS Records, and RER Megacorp. Since 2005, his work has been a staple at The Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art in Denver, shown alongside sculptors of international acclaim.

Dixon was raised in a two-parent household where belief in God and participation in the arts shaped family life. That relationship continues to inspire him as he navigates the world. He is married to his wife, Alice, and they have been together for over twenty years.
