Zin Maisiri is a Zimbabwean artist currently residing in the United Kingdom (since 2024). He is a mixed media artist working primarily in acrylic, incorporating newspapers, cardboard, fabric, metal, and plastic into his work.

Maisiri holds a diploma in Art and Design as well as a teaching diploma. Leaving teaching enabled him to more fully explore his artistic practice. He has exhibited extensively in Zimbabwe and Namibia, and has also shown work in Germany. Since moving abroad, he has continued to expand his artistic journey, including a growing focus on the impact of immigration on individuals and societies.

Maisiri’s work centers social and political stories from his environment and the wider world. Newspapers provide headlines and words that become both material and message. Through recurring motifs such as masks, he explores how concealing expression can become a matter of survival—moving between comfort and discomfort, speech and silence. He suggests that many people wear masks in daily life, and in societies, expressing personal thoughts openly is not always wise. Though faces may appear similar, they can conceal vast layers of meaning and unspoken language. His goal is to raise awareness of what is being communicated even when the masses are quiet.
